Woher kommen die Löcher im Konzept?
Where Do the Holes in the Concept Come From?
Asphalt interior, functioning as a model-building workshop, for artist Mirjam Kuitenbrouwer, in context of World Architecture Congress.
Context
The World Congress of Architecture (UIA) takes place in Berlin. 30 galleries in Berlin ask their artists to devote their show to the theme of art and architecture. Mirjam Kuitenbrouwer invited Observatorium to work together with her. She wanted to work on her architectural models during opening hours of the gallery. When we visitied the gallery, road workers were removing asphalt and sidewalks in front of the gallery. Concept She needed a private place for working in the semi public space of an art gallery, and she needed space for showing the models. Heaps of asphalt would make it impossible for visitors to come near her and her dog Fritzi. The asphalt would also form a miniature landscape for the models. After a working period of four weeks the

asphalt was to be reinstalled in the shape of a pedestal, where she and the gallery owner could exhibit the works of art.
