Villa Vola staat symbool voor het vredig samenleven tussen mens en dier. Villa Vola staat midden in de kleine natuur-oase in De Wheme in de woonwijken van Arnhem. Villa Vola is een aantrekkelijke villa waar iedereen wel zou willen wonen... maar hij staat hoog op een paal in het water, waardoor alleen de vogels er kunnen komen. In deze wijk zijn vogel en mens bij elkaar op bezoek. De Villa kijkt uit over de nieuw te bouwen wijk; met zijn uitstekende luifel kijkt hij uitnodigend over de plas naar de bebouwde omgeving. Andersom kunnen de bewoners van de wijk vanuit hun huis gluren naar de Villa Vola die in de oase van de natuur staat.
Villa Vola is a bird house in a former clay pit in the city of Arnhem. It's a symbol of the peaceful cohabitation and interdependence of man and animal. Birds live here because the humans turned an industrial site into a lake and park, offering lots of space and food. The modernist villa with splendid views and lots of privacy offers nesting opportunities for many different birds. On the other hand it is exactly the open modernist style the allows us to observe the birds from our own house.
